International Conference on Advanced Materials, Science and Engineering

(ICAMSE-12)

July 01- 04, 2012

Colombo, Sri Lanka

ICAMSE-12 will cover a wide range of interdisciplinary and current research topics related to science and engineering. Research on advanced materials make a strong connection between different fields in science and engineering. These new materials includes, nanomaterials, bio-nanomaterials, zero bandgap materials, composites, tissue engineering and biomaterials. These materials have numerous applications in electronics, biotechnology, medicine and energy harvesting.
The importance of nano-science and engineering has been well documented by both industrial and academic communities worldwide.
It is believed that breakthroughs in nano-science and technology will change all aspects of human life in such diverse areas as, energy, biomedicine, sensing, environment, and security.

The conference is intended to provide a forum for researchers and educators around the world to exchange state-of-the-art research and development and identify research needs and opportunities in these emerging fields. The primary objectives of this conference are to:

• Facilitate interaction between researchers working in the fields of development and application of materials, with a special emphasis on electronics, energy, biotechnology and environment;
• Provide scientists, engineers, graduate students and other professionals with a forum to actively engage in research discussions, and professional development; and
• Create opportunities for the next generation workforce to develop their professional skills.

This conference will include plenary speeches, keynotes, invited presentations, contributed presentations and poster presentations. ICAMSE-12 will provide opportunities for senior undergraduate students, graduate students and post doctoral researchers to actively engage in research discussions, and professional development. Special sessions will be included to provide information about current funding opportunities, new research interests, safety issues in nanotechnology and research ethics. There will be awards for best poster and a special category for best student papers. Students and postdoctoral researchers will have a chance to serve as session moderators and expert panelists. All conference proceedings will be peer reviewed and distributed through CDs and the Internet based journal.
