The Institute for Technology Assessment of the Austrian Academy of Sciences has published an overview of nanomaterials and occupational health under its NanoTrust project.
The dossier summarises the current state of knowledge on the risks for workers involved in the production, transport and processing of nanomaterials. It also discusses areas for priority focus, including the classification of hazardous nanomaterials, determining the status of synthetic nanoparticles, exposure limits, assessing the impacts of nanoparticles in the workplace, measures for the protection of employees, and adequate implementation and monitoring of risk prevention techniques.
The NanoTrust recently held its 5th workshop in Vienna, for which presentations are available.
