The workshop intended to provide an overview and a forum for discussion to regulators, scientists and other stakeholders on recent regulatory and scientific developments in the field of Environmental Health and Safety Assessment of Nanomaterials, in particular from the ENPRA FP7 project. It included sessions on regulatory development and implementation, nanomaterials characterization, exposure, and effects.
Summary records of the sessions as well as abstracts of the oral presentations are presented.

Background information
Launched in May 2009, the ENPRA project is a European Framework 7 project aiming at developing a novel integrated approach for risk assessment of engineered nanoparticles (ENP). It is led by the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) and can count on the knowledge and capabilities of 21 partners from EU and USA, including the Joint Research Centre (JRC).
This workshop was the second ENPRA Stakeholders’ Information Workshop and was organized jointly with the JRC-IHCP Nanobiosciences Unit.
