The Swiss Institute for Environmental and Process Technology (UMTEC) has published a report on the disposal of waste containing nanosilver in the textile industry.
The document outlines relevant information on current manufacturers of silver preparations and applications of silver in textiles in Europe, the value chain of silver usage in textiles, types and amounts of waste created throughout the production of silver forms, chemical methods for identifying silver in waste, and technologies for retracting silver from textile waste.
The document was commissioned by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
